The original axis-specified search technology for World Encyclopedia is owned and patented by Hitachi, but the program and search method used in WASS has newly been developed by DASYN, and will be publicly available here.

On December 13, 2009, DASYN.com started a trial service called WASS (Wikipedia Axis-Specified Search), which was a chronological and geographical axis-specified search service on Japanese version of Wikipedia. DASYN started developing an organizing search method called "axis-specified search" for Wikipedia, especially for Japanese version of Wikipedia. ]]> ASYN's original. The detailed method will be published here and in technical conferences. Here are several incomplete examples of search results: time-axis search results of Soseki Natsume and Hojo (both of them are in Japanese). Currently, the search text only contains approximately 1/8 of Wikipedia (in Japanese). We planned to accomplish whole Wikipedia search within a month, and we are also planning to open a trial search site for Wikipedia.

Vision of DASYN

DASYN was established to help change styles of mediated human communication. We will try to change email first because, currently, email is the primary medium for business communication. However, we would like to change other media including mediated voice communication, i.e., telephone, too. The detailed vision will be explained in near future.

Technology development -- current status and plan

DASYN has a plan to develop technologies and programs on human communication and collaboration, and DASYN is developing several original technologies. The developing technologies include a combination of information extraction, retrieval, and organization technologies, which was developed and called "axis-specified search" by the DASYN's engineer and researcher. This technology was developed in Hitachi, Ltd. and was patented by Hitachi. However, because the power of computers and networks drastically increases after this initial development, and the available amount of text has become much larger, DASYN is developing very new methods to realize the objectives.

DASYN was established to develop and to distribute general-purpose program product using Web interface technologies and internet communication technologies. It is currently a virtual company and not a organized company such as a joint-stock corporation. It has currently no relationships to other companies. There is only one member now. Meaning of DASYN

DASYN is a coined word that came from "Digital Analog SYNergy" (or SYNthesis). Because human senses are analog, we think that better computer technologies will come from fusions of digital and analog technologies. We once thought of using the word "fusion" instead of "SYNergy". However, we could not find a better word for a company name and/or domain name using "fusion"; for example, "fusionware.com" and "fusionware.net" were occupied. So we decided to use DASYN.
