A paper on fluctuated 3D printing has been published by AROB Journal (November 28, 2014 12:27 AM)

RIMG2281.jpgThe paper titled "3D Printing and Simulation of Naturally-Randomized Cellular-Automata", which was presented by Yasusi Kanada (the CTO of Dasyn.com) in the International Symposium on Artificial Life and Robotics (AROB 2014) was published by AROB Journal.

Presentation on “3D printing generative art by using deformation” (November 20, 2014 6:54 PM)

A preseantation on a unique design and printing methods for 3D printers was given by Yasusi Kanada (the CTO of Dasyn.com) in 4th International Conference on Additive Manufacturing and Bio-Manufacturing (ICAM-BM 2014, Beijing) (November 12-14). The presentation title was “3D-printing of Generative Art by using Combination and Deformation of Direction-specified 3D Parts”. By using this design method, which is completely different from conventional CAD-based method, simple shapes such as a cup is first defined, and various artistic shapes can be generated by deforming them. The printing method is also unique, i.e., different from conventional layer-by-layer methods.

In this presentation, a video on printing a dish with helical head motion, which was uploaded to YouTube, was shown and the technology was explained.

Dasyn opened a net-shop on 3D-printed consumer products (November 2, 2014 1:58 PM)

Dasyn.com opened a shop “デイシン Dasyn” in Yahoo shopping Japan. This shop sells 3D-printed cups, dishes, and objects such as empty spheres or deformed spheres. Current products are not suited for real use; however, Dasyn intended to improve materials and production methods to introduce real-use daily products. Dasyn also investigates wider applications of the technologies used for producing these objects.
